# 2017 Administrative Division Change Areas
The 2021 and 2022 data were based on the 2020 administrative division base map, modified in chronological order. Data prior to 2020 requires backward deduction; that is, the 2017 early administrative division data references the administrative changes of the entire year of 2018, rather than the changes of 2016.
First are the regions where administrative boundaries were not changed, including the revocation of counties to establish districts or county-level cities. This part mainly involves the modification of attribute information (including place name attributes, division code attributes, county type attributes, county-level code attributes, former name attributes, and corresponding English attributes). Not all are displayed in maps; the main information of the changed attributes has been listed in the text.
Next are the areas with changes, which were updated by referencing the national basic information 2015 administrative divisions (with a currentness of 2012), the Ministry of Civil Affairs 2018 division data, and 2013 administrative division data (source unknown).
